About Our Foundation
Incorporated and tax exempt in 2013, Help 4 HD's mission is to educate the world about Huntington’s disease (HD) and Juvenile Huntington's disease (JHD) through its multimedia communications platform. Through live events, Help 4 HD Radio, Help 4 JHD Radio, symposia, conferences, publications, and support groups, Help 4 HD brings education, information, and resources to the global community, partnering with medical professionals, researchers, institutions and industry for the most current and credible information and resources available.
WHAT IS HUNTINGTON’S DISEASE?
Huntington’s disease (HD gene found in 1993) is an inherited and ultimately fatal brain disorder that affects control of movement, thought, and behavior. Every child of an individual with HD has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the mutated gene that causes HD. More than 30,000 Americans have been diagnosed with HD, and more than 250,000 others are at risk.

Recent 2013 updated statistics from the National Institute of Health estimate that more than 30,000 people in the United States have Huntington's Disease.
